We take your privacy seriously. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. It explains who we are, what personal information we collect, how and why we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. It also tells you how to contact us or a supervisory authority if you have a question or complaint.
Open Research, Inc., a Delaware corporation doing business as Open Inference ("Open Inference," "Company," "we," "us," or "our"), operates the platform at www.openinference.ai and related websites, applications, and APIs (collectively, the "Platform"). The Platform provides a large-model inferencing service (the "Services"). This Privacy Policy describes our practices for personal information we handle in connection with the Platform. Each time you use the Platform, the then-current version of this Privacy Policy applies, so please check the date above and review any changes.
Zero data retention. We operate the Services on a zero-data-retention basis with respect to the contents of your prompts and the responses generated from them ("Customer Content"). We process your inputs only transiently, solely to generate and return your output, and we do not store Customer Content after the response is delivered, do not use it to train or improve any model, and do not sell it or share it with third parties for their own purposes. This Privacy Policy concerns the limited account, billing, technical, and website information described below, not the contents of your Inputs or Outputs.
Our Platform is hosted in the United States and is subject to U.S. state and federal law. If you access the Platform from outside the United States, you are transferring your personal information to us in the United States, and by using the Platform you consent to that transfer and to the handling of your personal information as described here. Where we offer the Services to individuals in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, we are subject to the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
BY USING OR ACCESSING THE PLATFORM, YOU ACCEPT THE PRACTICES DESCRIBED IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY.

2. Personal Information We Collect About You
We collect a limited set of personal information, summarized below. We do not collect, log, or retain the contents of your Inputs or Outputs.

If you do not provide the information we need to deliver the Services (such as a valid email), we may be unable to provide them.
3. How Your Personal Information Is Collected
We collect personal information from the following sources:
- Directly from you, for example, when you create an account, contact us, or make a purchase.
- Automatically through your use of the Services, for example, your IP address and usage metadata generated when you call our API.
- Cookies and similar technologies on our website.
- Our IT and security systems, including automated monitoring of our networks and Services for security, fraud, and abuse.
4. How and Why We Use Your Personal Information
Under data-protection law we use personal information only where we have a proper legal basis: to perform our contract with you, to comply with legal obligations, for our legitimate interests (where not overridden by your rights), or with your consent. We do not use Customer Content for any purpose beyond transiently generating your Output, and we do not use it to train or improve any model.
5. Promotional Communications
We may use your contact information to send you updates about our Services, including new features, offers, and promotions. We rely on our legitimate interest to send these messages and generally do not need your consent; where consent is required (for example, in the EEA or UK), we will obtain it separately.
You can opt out of marketing at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our promotional emails or by contacting us at markian@openinference.ai. Opting out of marketing does not stop service or transactional messages necessary to operate your account.
6. Who We Share Your Personal Information With
We share personal information only as needed to run the Services:
- Service providers, namely Stripe (payment processing) and Google Cloud Platform (cloud hosting and the compute on which the Services run). Customer Content is processed transiently on this infrastructure to generate your Output and is not retained.
- Law enforcement and regulators, where we are legally required to do so or where we have a good-faith belief it is necessary to comply with legal process or protect rights, property, or safety.
- Parties to a business transfer, such as a potential buyer in connection with a merger, acquisition, or restructuring, subject to confidentiality obligations.
We require our service providers to protect personal information and to use it only to provide services to us. We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we never share Customer Content with third parties for their own purposes.

9. How Long We Keep Your Personal Information
We do not retain Customer Content, it is processed transiently and not stored after your Output is returned. For the other information described in this Policy, we keep it while you have an account or while we provide the Services to you, and afterward only as long as necessary to respond to questions, complaints, or claims, to demonstrate that we treated you fairly, to comply with billing, tax, and other legal obligations, or to protect the security of the Services. Retention periods vary by the type of information and the purpose for which it is held.
10. Your California Privacy Rights
Shine the Light (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.83). California residents may request once per year, free of charge, information about personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for their direct-marketing purposes in the prior calendar year. To request this, write to us at markian@openinference.ai.
CCPA/CPRA. If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; to request access to and deletion of your personal information; to correct inaccurate personal information; and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. Because we do not sell or share personal information (as those terms are defined under California law) and do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that trigger the right to limit, those specific opt-out rights do not apply, but you may still exercise the rights above. 11. Your Rights Under the EU and UK GDPR
If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the following rights over your personal information:

12. How to Exercise Your Rights
To exercise any of these rights, email us at markian@openinference.ai. To protect your information, we may ask you to provide enough detail to identify you (such as your account email and details of relevant purchases), proof of your identity, and a description of the right you wish to exercise. We use any information collected for verification solely for that purpose. We are not obligated to act on a request if we cannot verify that you are the person to whom the information relates or an authorized agent.
13. Where Your Personal Information Is Held (EEA/UK Transfers)
Your personal information is held on our systems and those of our service providers described above, which are located in the United States. When we transfer personal information out of the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum), to protect it.
14. Keeping Your Personal Information Secure
We maintain reasonable technical, administrative, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access or disclosure, and we regularly assess and test our controls. Because we do not retain Customer Content, that content is not stored at rest on our systems. No security measures are perfect, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and API keys confidential; notify us immediately at markian@openinference.ai if you believe your account has been compromised.
15. How to File a GDPR Complaint
We hope to resolve any concern you raise about our use of your information. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in the EEA or UK state where you live or work, or where you believe an infringement occurred.
16. Children
The Services are intended only for individuals who are at least 18 years old. We do not direct the Services to, and do not knowingly collect personal information from, anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a person under 18, we will take steps to delete it. 17. Do Not Track
Our Platform does not respond to "Do Not Track" signals or similar mechanisms.
18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time in our discretion. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised date at the top, and unless stated otherwise the current version applies to all information we hold about you. We may, but are not required to, notify you of material changes by email. Please review this page periodically and keep your contact information current.
